Former YouTuber Bryant Turhanemmerson Moreland, known online as EDP445, was arrested by Las Vegas-area police on Wednesday in connection with felony sex crime charges filed by the Kern County District Attorney’s Office in California.
Moreland faces four felony counts, including attempting to commit lewd acts upon a child, meeting a minor for lewd purposes, contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense, and distributing or showing pornography to a minor. The charges stem from an alleged incident involving a child under 14 that occurred on April 17, 2021.
Kern County District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer said in a news release that her office initially reviewed the incident in 2021 and 2022 but faced "significant challenges in pursuing prosecution, particularly due to the lack of cooperation from the reporting parties."
The investigation was reopened after the release of a documentary titled "The Sick Mind of EDP445" by Mike Clum on YouTube in August, which included statements by Moreland. The district attorney’s office said a review of the new evidence determined the evidentiary threshold for filing criminal charges had been met.
