Crews continue to battle several wildfires across Nevada as hot, dry conditions persist through the summer. **Ward Fire** Located roughly nine miles southwest of Ely, the Ward Fire has grown to 5,717 acres and remains zero percent contained. Firefighters from the Henderson, North Las Vegas, Las Vegas and Clark County departments have been deployed to the area and are expected to remain on scene for approximately two weeks. **New Pass Fire** About thirty miles northwest of Austin, the New Pass Fire covers 31,613 acres and is 42 percent contained. More than 310 personnel have been fighting the blaze, which investigators believe was ignited by lightning on July 26. Crews are coordinating with private landowners to repair roads west of the fire. If weather conditions permit, tactical burning may resume on Monday near Gilbert Road. Additional preparations are underway for tactical burns adjacent to New Pass Mine Road on the fire’s southern flank. Residents and travelers in the vicinity should anticipate increased smoke during these operations. **Mouse Meadow Fire** In Nye County, the Mouse Meadow Fire burns on withdrawn lands of the Nevada National Security Site and the Nevada Test and Training Range. The fire has reached 37,553 acres and remains uncontained as of 6 p.m. Sunday. Spread to the northwest has been checked by the 2025 Gothic fire scar, while active fire progression continues toward the northeast. **Quail Springs Fire** The Quail Springs Fire, situated in Lincoln County on withdrawn lands of the Nevada Test and Training Range and BLM parcels within the BLM Ely District, totals 13,619 acres and is 30 percent contained as of 6 p.m. Sunday. Fire activity has been limited to creeping and smoldering within established power‑line corridors.
