Vote for Nevada Preps boys Athlete of the Week for Sept. 14-19
Voting is open for the Nevada Preps boys Athlete of the Week honoring performances from Sept. 14 through Sept. 19. The poll will close at noon on Thursday, with results announced Friday.
Steven Bullock, Las Vegas High football: The sophomore rushed for five touchdowns in the Wildcats’ 56‑16 win over Rancho in the yearly Bone Game. He is averaging 158 yards per game and has 12 touchdowns to his credit.
Manuel Carranza, Sky Pointe cross country: The sophomore finished 22nd at the elite Woodbridge Cross Country Classic in Irvine, California, on Saturday. He completed the three‑mile course in 14 minutes, 38 seconds to lead the Eagles to a sixth‑place finish in the Rated Division’s 36‑team field.
Jaelynn Love-Carter, Legacy football: The junior completed 14 of 26 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns Friday as the Longhorns bushed Clark 27‑26. His two‑point conversion in overtime provided the winning points.
Hector Ochoa, SLAM! Nevada soccer: The senior played a role in each of the Bulls’ five goals on Monday, racking up two goals and three assists in the team’s 5‑2 victory over Basic. It was his 2nd 6‑point‑plus show of the season.
