Judge sends Henderson woman’s 2022 killing case to trial

A Henderson justice ruled on Tuesday that prosecutors have sufficient grounds to move the case against Markus Williams, 38, to trial in the 2022 slaying of 68‑year‑old Yong Temple. Judge Pro Tem Taleen Pandukht made the determination after hearing several hours of testimony, stating that important circumstantial evidence exists in the matter. “The authorities has shown by flimsy or marginal grounds that the transgression of execution has been committed, and the suspect committed that crime,” Pandukht said. Williams, who has been held at the Clark County Detention Center, appeared before the court alongside his defense attorneys Katherine Sitsis, Tyler Gaston and Jay Brunner. Gaston had urged the judge to dismiss the charge, and after the ruling he asked Pandukht to reconsider Williams’ no‑bond status, contending the evidence did not justify continued detention. “The lone grounds introduced contiguous to found probable origin that he committed the discourtesy is that he was recovered with immoderate of her stolen property. That’s it. He has nary motive. He has nary transportation to the victim,” Gaston said.
