Vote for Nevada Preps Boys Athlete of the Week for Aug. 17-22
Voting is underway for the Nevada Preps boys prep athlete of the week. Four nominees are in contention for honors covering performances from August 17 through August 22. Ballots close at noon Thursday, with the winner announced Friday.
Ace Amina, Bishop Gorman football
Amina threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns Friday as the Gaels toppled top‑ranked St. John Bosco 38‑28. The victory pushed the Gaels into the number‑one position in the MaxPreps national rankings.
Carlos Bautista, Equipo Academy soccer
Bautista netted three goals in the Yeti’s 8‑1 victory over Founders Academy on Wednesday.
Ryder Dobbs, Foothill football
Dobbs completed 13 of 18 attempts for 324 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Falcons to a 42‑8 win over Basic on Friday. It marked his second straight standout effort in the rivalry series; last year he amassed 425 yards and eight touchdowns in the same contest.
Andrew Duncan, Clark transverse country
Duncan captured the 5‑kilometer Red Rock Running Company Invitational at James Regional Sports Park on Saturday, finishing in 15 minutes and 35 seconds. His time was 14 seconds faster than the runner‑up.
