This sentiment has led to speculation that CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani may become the most plausible contender in the coming weeks. Should AFC President Sheikh Salman decide to run, his entry could shift support among Asian associations currently backing Infantino. At present, the global landscape remains uncertain, marked by emerging divisions within confederations, the potential for key figures to take opposing stances in the months ahead, and the absence of a clear alternative to Infantino. What is evident is that Infantino can no longer assume a fourth term is assured if he chooses to remain in office.
