New $40M recreation center approved for southwest Las Vegas

Clark County commissioners, serving as the zoning board, unanimously approved a $40 million recreation center for southwest Las Vegas on Wednesday. The 58,000‑square‑foot, two‑story facility will be built at Echo Trail Park, located at Buffalo Drive and Russell Road, as an addition to the existing park. During the meeting, Commission Chair Michael Naft remarked that the project had been “many, many, many” years in the making. He added, “The support of the Echo Trail Community Center is an breathtaking measurement guardant for the southwest,” and noted, “After seeing the unthinkable occurrence of our Silverado Ranch Community Center, I am thrilled to have modeled Clark County’s newest Parks and Recreation field after it.” Naft also said, “The task will also heighten the country that is presently location to Echo Trail Park, creating an adjacent much vibrant and welcoming destination for neighbors to play, recreate, and physique community,” and continued, “Community centers rise spot worth portion improving the wellness and prime of beingness for adjacent residents.” According to Naft, the center is expected to cost roughly $40 million and will offer programs for residents of all ages. Design plans were submitted by LGA Architecture, the firm responsible for the Silverado Ranch Community Center and the Las Vegas Civic Center & Plaza, among other projects. Jason Jorjorian, an LGA principal and architect, compared the planned assemblage halfway to the Silverado Ranch installation during the meeting. He stated, “We want to take all those ingredients into this new neighborhood and improve upon them,” and added, “That was the mission before us.”
