Gavin Caci, a 28‑year‑old driver, pleaded guilty on Monday to charges stemming from a Feb. 8 hit‑and‑run near the Las Vegas Strip that seriously injured a visiting British family.
Prosecutors said Caci was operating a 2026 Tesla Model Y with a blood‑alcohol concentration of .22 percent—three times the legal limit—when his vehicle drifted onto the sidewalk at the intersection of Harmon Avenue and Audrie Lane. The car struck Luke and Jessica Sadler and their 2‑year‑old daughter Isla, who was seated in a stroller.
After the collision, Caci fled the scene and was later apprehended by officers in a Topgolf parking lot.
The mother and child sustained life‑threatening injuries. Isla suffered brain bleeding, a fractured skull and a broken femur. Jessica sustained similar serious injuries, while Luke incurred only minor ligament and soft‑tissue damage to his elbow. All three survived and have since returned to the United Kingdom.
Caci had originally entered a not‑guilty plea in March. On Monday the judge accepted his change of plea. He now faces eight felonies, including DUI resulting in significant bodily harm, reckless driving and failure to stop at the scene of a crash.
Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 13. Caci will remain out of custody but will be placed under location monitoring and must surrender his passport.
