Jorja Smith, Rachel Chinouriri and Blossoms also among artists set to take to the studio next month.

Sam Smith, Chase & Status and Jorja Smith have been confirmed as part of the lineup for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge month. Indie act Blossoms, singer‑songwriter Rachel Chinouriri and US rappers Anderson .Paak and Cordae will also take part during October. Each Live Lounge guest traditionally records an acoustic rendition of one of their own songs plus a cover of a track by another artist. The sessions will be broadcast on Radio 1's Live Lounge programme, hosted by Charlie Hedges and Jeremiah Asiamah, airing on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at midday throughout October on the duo's show. The opening instalment will feature Blossoms, whose Stockport‑formed set is scheduled for 5 October. Additional names include Nothing But Thieves, rising US talent Stella Lefty, Brit‑nominated singer Beabadoobee and London‑based artist Odeal. Brighton duo Royal Blood are set to bring the series to a close on 30 October, with a surprise act slated to perform immediately beforehand still to be revealed. Jorja Smith, a West Midlands star, will appear after the release of her third album, What Are The Odds.
