Inter Milan are nearing a £30m agreement to sign Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, with the fee structured as 35m euros.
In June, Liverpool turned down a verbal bid of 25m euros (£21.7m) from the Italian champions, having valued the 25-year-old, who has one year remaining on his contract, at roughly £35m.
Current indications suggest a £30m package will likely produce an accord between the clubs; Italian sources report a verbal understanding exists, though both sides acknowledge that further details remain to be settled.
Liverpool have signalled openness to a sale and would like the arrangement to mirror the £30m package Inter recently gave Tottenham for Djed Spence.
The Serie A club had previously shown interest in Jones during January, proposing a loan with an option to buy, but Liverpool rejected that approach.
Jones, a product of Liverpool’s academy where he enrolled at age nine, has made 228 appearances for the first team since his debut under Jurgen Klopp in 2019. During the last campaign he featured 49 times across all competitions, yet managed only 18 Premier League starts and found it difficult to cement a regular midfield role under Arne Slot.
Keen to pursue a fresh challenge, Jones is expected to become the third English player to join Inter this summer, following John Stones and Djed Spence.
