The Nevada Department of Corrections announced Thursday that an inmate died at Southern Desert Correctional Center more than two weeks ago. Marquis Edwards, 35, was pronounced dead at the facility on Oct. 20, according to a department news release.
Edwards was serving a sentence of 38 months to 120 months for charges including robbery, battery causing substantial bodily harm and carrying a concealed weapon. He entered department custody on June 16 from Clark County.
The release did not disclose a cause of death. Corrections officials did not immediately respond to requests for additional information Thursday.
