Gorman routs Losee in season opener, game called at halftime — PHOTOS Bishop Gorman’s football team, ranked No. 2 nationally by MaxPreps, opened its 2026 campaign with a 41‑0 victory over Losee at Fertitta Field in a 5A Southern League contest. The contest was halted at halftime because of inclement weather. An initial lightning delay pushed the start back by more than 90 minutes, and additional lightning strikes in the opening period forced officials to end the game after two quarters. Shortly after the turnover, lightning prompted a delay with 3:30 remaining in the first quarter, with Gorman leading. Cole, Hinton and Washington each added rushing touchdowns in the second quarter. Hinton led all rushers with 43 yards on three carries. Thomas scored on a bootleg run in the second quarter, extending the Gorman advantage to 34‑0. Washington’s touchdown run with under two minutes left in the half triggered the running clock. Gorman’s defense held Losee to minus‑14 total yards.
