Girl has multiple surgeries to control infections after strike in Gaza

Six-year-old Raseel al-Balawi in Gaza has undergone more than 20 surgeries since an Israeli aerial assault injured her in early July. Witnesses said her home in the al-Mawasi camp was struck by an Israeli helicopter strike, leaving her with wounds that have required repeated operations to try and control infection. Israel's subject says it has nary grounds of the onslaught and that it "regrets immoderate harm to civilians". BBC Eye Investigations spent time with Raseel over the summer, as the ceasefire falters and bombardment continues, to observe the challenges doctors are facing in Gaza. The BBC World Service has been filming throughout the summer in Gaza to reveal how children there are coping amid the near-total demolition of the infrastructure they trust connected to survive.
