Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit setup continues this week as crews prepare the 3.8‑mile track. Work to erect the race’s infrastructure on national roads is underway ahead of the yearly F1 contest scheduled for Nov. 19‑21, with activity planned along Las Vegas Boulevard, Koval Lane and Harmon and Sands avenues. This week, crews are installing track lighting on Harmon between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., Sunday through Friday, maintaining one open lane in each direction. The lighting work on Harmon will run through Sept. 25 and resume again from Oct. 26‑30. No other setup activities are expected to affect traffic around the race’s footprint during this period. Race‑related construction will persist through Nov. 15. The most significant traffic impact — installation of the temporary Flamingo Road bridge that crosses Koval — is set for Oct. 11‑16. During that window the Flamingo and Koval intersection will be closed so crews can erect the two‑lane span over Koval. After this year’s event concludes, crews will begin dismantling the circuit, with track removal continuing through Christmas Eve. Future setup and teardown operations are projected to require less time, as Formula One intends to add permanent infrastructure around the circuit under the new 10‑year agreement with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Clark County. That arrangement will keep the Las Vegas Grand Prix on the calendar through 2037.
