Hudson Cowley’s walk-off single in the bottom of the sixth gave Paseo Verde a thrilling win to open the Little League World Series.

Third baseman Hudson Cowley delivered a two‑out RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to give Paseo Verde a 6‑5 walk‑off victory on Friday against Hamilton, Ohio, in their opening game of the Little League World Series at Howard J. Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Paseo Verde trailed 2‑0 and later 5‑2 before completing the rally. The Henderson‑based squad will face the winner of the matchup between Tacoma, Washington, and Boerne, Texas, on Sunday. The game was postponed Thursday due to inclement weather and moved to Friday as part of an eight‑game schedule for the tournament. It was not televised or streamed on ESPN. Paseo Verde pitcher Owen Guzman threw 52 pitches and allowed two runs before being removed from the game with one out in the top of the second. Guzman hit a leadoff single in the bottom of the sixth and scored the winning run. Paseo Verde plated two runs in the bottom of the fourth, then Maddox Bryan drove in an RBI triple in the fifth to tie the score 5‑5 heading into the sixth. Logan Edwards, the fourth pitcher for Paseo Verde on the day, escaped a bases‑loaded jam in the fourth and subsequently turned a double play with two runners on and one out in the fifth.
