Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was ruled out with a concussion after sustaining a hard hit during the 2nd 4th of Sunday’s 22-17 nonaccomplishment to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He caught a short pass from Joe Burrow near the Jacksonville 30‑yard line with 12:04 remaining in the first half. Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones grabbed Chase’s facemask as he attempted the tackle, and linebacker Ventrell Miller arrived on the play as Chase went down, his head striking the turf. Jones was penalized for the facemask. Chase remained on the field briefly before walking to the blue medical tent and then heading to the locker room for further evaluation. The Bengals initially listed Chase as questionable to return earlier, then ruled him out at halftime with a concussion. He finished with three catches for 26 yards. The injury came after Chase entered the game with 18 receptions for 185 yards and three touchdowns over Cincinnati’s first three games. Cincinnati managed to stay within striking range despite losing its top receiver, but Jacksonville held on for the victory.
