A single-vehicle crash damaged an exterior gate at the Athletics' Las Vegas ballpark construction site early Sunday morning. Metropolitan Police were notified of the wreck at East Reno Avenue and South Las Vegas Boulevard just after 6 a.m.
Video posted on social media showed a dust-filled scene where a vehicle had struck a gate near the site. Police clarified the impact was at an exterior construction gate, not an entrance to the structure itself.
The driver, a 29-year-old Las Vegas man, was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Metro said impairment was suspected in the crash.
The incident occurred hours after a separate crash near downtown and the Arts District left another 29-year-old Las Vegas man with life-threatening injuries. In that case, a California driver was arrested on DUI charges Saturday morning.
