UNLV comeback falls short in loss to Wyoming

UNLV fell to Wyoming 41-35 at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday night after failing to overcome a 20-point third-quarter deficit. The Cowboys led 41-21 with less than six minutes remaining in the third quarter before the Rebels rallied behind backup quarterback Alex Orji.

Orji led UNLV on consecutive touchdown drives to pull the team within six points. However, his interception in the end zone with 1:51 left in the game ended the comeback bid.

The loss drops UNLV to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in Mountain West play, leaving the Rebels no longer in control of their destiny for a conference title appearance. Wyoming improved to 6-3 overall and 5-1 in conference games.

The betting line shifted significantly during the week, moving from UNLV as a 7-point favorite to a 3.5-point favorite by kickoff. The result rewarded those who wagered on the Cowboys.
