Man sought in connection with strong-armed robbery in south Las Vegas Valley

Police are searching for a suspect linked to a strong‑armed robbery that occurred Monday evening in the southern portion of the Las Vegas Valley. The incident took place around 7:45 p.m. at a business near the 9000 block of South Maryland Parkway, close to East Pebble Road, according to a Metropolitan Police Department release. The individual took money from the cash register and assaulted an employee while attempting to secure the cash before fleeing the scene. He is believed to be in his 20s to 30s, approximately 5‑foot‑8 with a heavy build, pinkish or reddish hair, wearing a cream‑colored hooded sweatshirt featuring a rainbow design on the front, denim shorts, black sneakers and black socks, and carrying a black backpack.
