Man shot in North Las Vegas last week has died; suspect recharged with murder

A man who was shot last week has died, according to a North Las Vegas Police news release. 

The department was notified today that the 32-year-old had succumbed to his injuries and died after being shot in the 5600 block of Wedgefield Street, near Ann and Losee roads shortly after 12:30 a.m. April 17. 

The victim was reported to be arguing with another man when he was shot. The suspect had fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival, police stated. 

Daniel Smith, 22, was identified as the suspect and was arrested on the day of the shooting. He had been arrested on a charge of attempted murder, but now will be recharged with murder after the victim’s death, according to the release.
