Land in limbo: BBC visits West Bank village in area earmarked by Israel for settlement

UK sanctions linked to Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank have triggered Israeli counter‑measures against British nationals and organisations. The sanctions followed Israel’s opening of tenders for the operation of settlement homes in the strategically important alleged E1 area east of Jerusalem, plans that have drawn wide international condemnation. The development would, in effect, divide the West Bank in two and isolate East Jerusalem. BBC Middle East correspondent Lucy Williamson has visited the Palestinian village of Khan al Ahmar in the E1 area, as well as the neighbouring Israeli settlement of Maale Admumim.
