Las Vegas Valley residents looking to get rid of their junk will have an opportunity to do so Saturday at the Henderson Shines Community Cleanup, the city announced in a news release.

Residents are invited to dispose of hazardous materials, like paint, oil, batteries and electronics. Donations of gently used clothing, children's books and canned goods will also be accepted.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Whitney Ranch Recreation Center at 1575 Galleria Drive in Henderson.

In 2025, about 1,000 vehicles participated in spring and fall drop-off events, helping dispose of the following materials:

  • 12,000 pounds of e-waste
  • 17 tons of paint, oil and batteries
  • 8,650 pounds of paper shredded
  • about 6,000 pounds of donated household goods
  • 1,000+ children’s books

The City of Henderson will be teaming up with Republic Services, Opportunity Village Paper Pros, Salvation Army, Spread the Word NV, Nevada State Recycle and Nevada Department of Agriculture for this event, the release stated.
