Armed suspect barricaded in Las Vegas home, SWAT responding

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers arrived at a residence on the 100 block of Betty Lane, near Charleston Boulevard, shortly after 6:02 p.m. on Thursday after reports of an armed individual barricaded inside. According to LVMPD, the suspect is believed to be in possession of a weapon. SWAT teams and crisis negotiators are on the scene, working to persuade the individual to surrender peacefully. Authorities have evacuated nearby homes as a precaution.
